Chief Purpose of the Position
The Patient Care Coordinator supports an optimal patient experience through scheduling, registration, account management, and financial coordination. This role serves as a primary point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate appointment management, billing support, insurance verification, and patient communication.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Strong customer service skills supporting patients, students, residents, faculty, and staff.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and office procedures preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
- Proficiency in Windows-based systems with accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs and schedules.
- Knowledge of patient financial ledgers and ability to clearly explain balances.
Education and Experience Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Customer service experience required.
- Dental or medical office experience preferred.
- Accounts receivable and/or insurance experience preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience
