Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) specializing in Gastrointestinal (GI), Surgical Oncology, and Organ Transplant care to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a leading healthcare environment, providing specialized patient care across complex medical disciplines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing diverse clinical situations, supporting patient recovery, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing GI procedures, surgical oncology treatments, or organ transplants, ensuring safety and comfort throughout their hospital stay.
- Assist with preoperative assessments, patient education, and post-operative recovery protocols tailored to individual needs.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments when applicable, following strict aseptic techniques and safety guidelines
- Support complex procedures including catheterizations, suturing, ventilator management, and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, discharge instructions, and post-care needs including hospice & palliative medicine or memory care when relevant.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice and willing to obtain Indiana license.
- Proven experience in hospital settings such as ICU , Level I or Level II trauma centers, or surgical units; experience in transplant or oncology units is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and infection control protocols.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to perform patient assessments and manage acute pain or complex medical conditions effectively.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient-centered care; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
