A Slitter Operator Assistant supports the operator in the operation of the slitting machine. This role is responsible by assisting with set-up material loading, quality checks, and maintaining a clean and safe work area, ensuring production runs and meeting requiring specifications.
DESCRIPTION

Ensure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality. Organize and manage resources, monitor progress, identify risks and mitigation.

Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition.

Load and unload rolls onto the slitter machine.
-
Inspecting the slit material for defects like tears, wrinkles, or inconsistencies, and reporting any issues to the operator.
- Cutting rolls, rewinding slit rolls, applying labels with correct product details, and finished rolls for storage.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of materials.

Removing and disposing of scrap material.

Provides direct support to production operators, helping to resolve issues and maintain workflow efficiency.

Responsible for plant sanitation and monitoring action plans to maintain sound GMP’s and orderly housekeeping.

Conduct other duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE

Preferred experience working in plastic manufacturing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.

Ability to operate basic tools and measuring devices (tape measure, scale, etc.).

Ability to read, write, and speak in English to effectively communicate and interpret instructions.
- Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and carrying, going up and down ladders/steps.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
