Duties
- Perform thorough decontamination of dental and medical instruments using appropriate sterilization techniques and equipment.
- Assemble, inspect, and package sterile instruments according to strict aseptic protocols to ensure readiness for clinical procedures.
- Manage inventory levels of sterilized supplies, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and documentation for compliance with health standards.
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and endoscope reprocessors following manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality control checks to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Follow infection prevention management protocols by adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control standards at all times.
- Assist with endoscope reprocessing and other specialized sterilization tasks requiring advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to dental instruments.
Skills
- Proven experience in sterile processing medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization within healthcare or dental environments.
- Strong understanding of infection control principles, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention practices.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to dental procedures and instrumentation.
- Skilled in operating medical equipment sterilization devices such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and endoscope reprocessors.
- Excellent inventory management skills to track supplies accurately and ensure availability of sterile instruments at all times.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols for decontamination, instrument handling, and surgical instrument sterilization with precision.
- Familiarity with healthcare safety standards related to infection prevention management and surgical instrument handling.
