Kennebec Equipment Rental is a Maine family-owned Equipment Rental business founded in 1964. Today the business has five locations across the state and remains dedicated to providing excellent service and treating customers and employees like neighbors. What You'll Do
- Help customers in person and on the phone — always friendly and professional
- Ask questions to figure out what equipment a customer needs, and suggest options
- Fill out rental forms and contracts, and get customer signatures
- Explain rental costs and how to safely use rented equipment
- Answer the phone and take orders
- Help solve customer problems and answer questions
- Help load and unload equipment
- Schedule deliveries and pickups, and help customers load/unload when needed
- Show customers how to safely operate their equipment
- Clean equipment before and after it's rented, and while it's in the yard
- Keep the showroom clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Assist with inventory management
Software & Tech Skills
- Use our rental software to check rates and availability, build quotes, reserve equipment, open and close contracts, schedule deliveries/pickups, and email quotes or contracts to customers
Other Responsibilities
- Report any safety issues to your supervisor
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Follow government safety rules and store security procedures
- Attend team, store, and safety meetings
- Assist with other tasks as needed or assigned
Working Conditions
- You'll be on your feet or seated for long stretches
- You'll be talking with customers all day long
- You may be around fuels and cleaning products (gas, diesel, propane, kerosene, solvents)
- You'll work both indoors and outside in various weather conditions
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
- Able to lift and move 50–70 lbs.
- A friendly, helpful attitude with customers
- Comfortable talking on the phone
- Good communication skills, written and spoken
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Experience in equipment rental is a plus, but not required
Salary Range: $20.25 - 21.65
