Overview
Join the caring and dedicated team at The School of Early Leaning at Old York Road Temple-Beth Am in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants and toddlers during our late care program (3:00–5:30 p.m.). In this role, you will support each child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development through attentive caregiving, play-based learning, and responsive interactions. You'll help create a warm and welcoming space where young children feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore while supporting the needs of busy families.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and compassionate care for infants and toddlers in a safe, nurturing environment.
- Foster age-appropriate development through play, music, sensory experiences, books, and interactive activities.
- Assist with feeding, bottle preparation, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other daily care routines.
- Comfort children, respond promptly to their individual needs, and build trusting relationships with each child.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom that meets all health and safety standards.
- Communicate with families and staff regarding each child's afternoon, including updating the school's communication app with important information.
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to provide a positive, supportive experience for every child.
- Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and school policies to ensure a secure environment for children and staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare center, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for children from infancy through age three.
- Experience as a nanny, babysitter, or caregiver for infants and toddlers is a plus.
- Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills.
- Warm, dependable, flexible, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification) is preferred.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
