Waiter/Waitress
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Food & Beverage
JOB SUMMARY:
To serve food and beverages to restaurant customers. Offer hospitable service to all guests of hotel and upsell items for increased revenue; replenish and stock all related items for service along with linens, silverware, glassware, dishes etc. Assist other jobs to employ teamwork through the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Cleans tables and sets them to be ready for use by customers.
2. Greets and seats customers and hands them menus.
3. Announces daily specials, answers questions about menu items, and takes orders.
4. Enters orders into computer system so that kitchen staff can prepare food.
5. Picks up drinks and food when orders are ready and serves customers.
6. Observes customers to respond if they require additional service and to present the check when they have finished eating.
7. Prepares and delivers check.
8. Accepts payment or directs customer to cashier.
9. Cleans table and prepares it for next customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Polite, friendly manner to deal with customers.
2. Neat, clean appearance and willingness to follow rules for sanitary food service.
3. Previous experience as a waitperson desirable but not required.
4. Ability to work quickly and efficiently to provide prompt service.
5. Ability to operate computer to enter orders and prepare checks.
6. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
7. Must be 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages.
8. Flexible schedule required, available to work weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to lift 50+ pounds above shoulders.
2. Ability to carry large food trays and smaller cocktail trays
3. Good mobility to deliver food to customers.
4. Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare bills.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.98 per hour
