Duties
- Develop and implement creative, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional development.
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Engage children in hands-on activities that support child development instruction and early intervention strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to build strong partnerships.
- Maintain classroom organization, manage daily routines, and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols including first aid and CPR certification requirements.
- Assess children's progress through observations and standardized testing when appropriate; adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development initiatives and participate in ongoing professional development focused on childhood development and preschool teaching best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and working with toddlers is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork within the educational community.
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Ability to create a nurturing environment that promotes childhood development while adhering to childcare standards.
- Prior experience in private school settings or similar educational environments is preferred but not required.
