American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in Georgia, requiring at least 2 years of L&D specialty experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit

Unit consists of 12 labor beds, 5 antepartum beds, and 2 ORs, plus a 6-bed OB emergency room
-
Handles 150–200 births per month, with patients ranging from routine to high-risk OB, including antepartum patients requiring extended stays prior to delivery
-
Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines

Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) system: OB Trace

EMR: MEDITECH (experience preferred)
-
12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM – 6:45 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirement
-
Floating to postpartum as needed
-
17-week assignment
-
Active RN license for Georgia (GA license or Compact RN license required)

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM (Intermediate level or above)

Minimum 2 years of L&D specialty experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Driver's license required for consideration

Procedures performed on unit include C-sections, cerclages, and tubal ligations; OR techs scrub for C-sections and attend vaginal deliveries

Neonatology and OB hospitalist are in-house 24/7; RT and pharmacy support available 24/7

Lactation services available in-house to support patients; designated baby-friendly hospital

Hospital provides scrubs

Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts (approximately 16 hours)

Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff

Charge nurses are generally outside the staffing grid

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Candidates must reside more than 72 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
