Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Driver to join our team, responsible for transporting passengers safely and efficiently across various routes. Duties
- Operate buses and other commercial vehicles with precision and adherence to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Safely transport passengers on scheduled routes, including school buses, paratransit services, or senior care transportation
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical functionality
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing assistance and information as needed
- Manage behavior and ensure safety protocols are followed by all passengers, especially children or individuals with special needs
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance needs
- Collaborate with dispatchers and team members to coordinate schedules and address any route or passenger issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., commercial driver’s license) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or similar roles involving passenger transport
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics and mechanical troubleshooting techniques
- Experience working with children, seniors, or individuals requiring childcare or behavioral management support
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures accurately
- Multilingual capabilities are highly desirable to enhance communication with diverse passenger groups
