We are looking for a skilled 2nd Shift Welder to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG welding, be comfortable reading blueprints and welding symbols, and be able to produce quality welds in a fast-paced production environment.
As a 2nd Shift Welder, you will perform MIG welding only using 0.052" wire on structural steel products. Welders will receive product that has been fitted up by a fitter and will use blueprints and welding symbols to determine where and how to weld.
Work may include welding I-beams, joists, webbing, connection plates, stiffeners, supporting brackets, and other structural components.
Welders will work in an area known as the "Pit," as part of a crew of approximately 3–4 welders and fitters. This is a fast-paced position requiring quality workmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass 1G and 2G unlimited MIG welding tests, including visual and bend testing.
- Experience welding with 0.052" wire.
- Ability to weld approximately 25–30 amps with wire speeds around 400–500.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols.
- Ability to operate a grinder safely and effectively.
- Experience welding structural steel components is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds.
- Ability to work effectively with a crew of welders and fitters.
- Must follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
