In business since 1942, 100% veteran-owned Sturgis Materials (www.SturgisMaterials.com) is the premier supplier of natural building stone and aggregates in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area. We have an opening for a truck driver with a current Class A or B CDL with airbrakes. Vast majority of deliveries are made in the Greater Kansas City area in our dump trucks and/or flatbed with or without forklift. There may be out of town deliveries in the 4 state area, but not far enough away to where overnight stays are required. While driving is the primary role, additional job duties also include material handling in our warehouse and stone yard which includes loading and unloading all types of vehicles (via forklift, hi-loader, bobcat, or by hand), assisting customers, moving stone and other heavy materials, bagging aggregates, and other general duties as required by management.
All 3 of our trucks are DOT inspected annually and well maintained with all required safety equipment and documentation. We do not overload our vehicles and follow all state and federal laws. Our company maintains a workforce of less than 25 employees.
Business hours are 7-4:30 M-F and 8-12:00 Saturday, applicants will be expected to work during all business hours including Saturdays as needed.
Starting wage is $22.50 per hour. Benefits include health insurance and paid vacation.
