California Sleep Solutions is a patient care focused provider specializing in diagnosis and treatment of sleep disordered breathing. We are looking for a Medical Assistant / PAP Therapist Trainee to educate patients on usage of equipment and benefits of PAP therapy, monitor compliance and provide ongoing support for success with therapy.
Please note this position will be based at both our Roseville and Sacramento locations, alternating based on scheduling needs; qualified candidates must be available to work at both labs.
KEY DUTIES
- Dispense PAP equipment and supplies (Ex: CPAP and BiPAP machines, masks, etc.)
- Educate patients about sleep disordered breathing and the benefits of PAP therapy
- Review clinical sleep study results
- Explain compliance and insurance requirements for therapy
- Provide timely follow up care with patients either in person or via email or phone
- Monitor and ensure compliance of recommended patient therapy
- Inspect and facilitate repairs of equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate records of equipment dispensing and inventory counts
- Comply with all CDPS, CMS and accreditation requirements
- Minimal local travel may be required
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Prior licensing with CDPH and/or experience with PAP equipment is a plus, but we will provide paid training for motivated candidates displaying enthusiasm for a long-term career in patient care.
- Previous DME or medical experience (1 year minimum)
- Current CPR Certification, as well as PPD clearance
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, standard office equipment)
- Professional and reliable, with a positive demeanor
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a wide range of personalities
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, staff and providers
- CRT, RRT, certifications or CDPH exemptee license (preferred but not required)
