The Position
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented person to join our team and help make sure our landscape projects are installed correctly.
The main focus of this position is reading landscape plans, laying out the project in the field, scheduling/keeping track of jobs and making sure the installation matches the plan.
This is a hands-on position. You'll spend a lot of time outside at residential and commercial job sites, working with our crews and making sure the project is laid out and installed properly.
What You'll Do
- Read and understand landscape and planting plans
- Visit job sites and lay out planting beds, plants, trees, hardscape, and other landscape elements according to the plans
- Make sure plants are placed in the correct locations, spacing, and quantities
- Work with our crews to make sure the plan is being followed during installation
- Take measurements and make sure layouts are accurate
- Identify problems or differences between the plan and actual site conditions and bring them to the project manager's attention
- Help answer questions from crews about how something should be installed
- Walk completed work and make sure everything is installed properly and looks right
- Communicate with the office and crews about job progress and any issues that come up
- Help keep projects moving and make sure details don't get missed
What We're Looking For
The most important thing is that you can read a landscape plan and understand how to lay it out in the field.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience reading landscape or planting plans
- Understands basic landscape installation
- Can accurately measure and lay out a job
- Is comfortable working with landscape crews
- Can communicate clearly and solve problems in the field
- Is dependable and willing to take ownership of getting the job done correctly
- Is comfortable working outside in all types of weather
- Can work independently and stay organized while visiting multiple job sites
Experience in landscaping, landscape installation, horticulture, nursery work, or construction is helpful.
Starting Pay: $60,000 + bonuses
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
