Duties
- Support tile installers by preparing work areas, including measuring, cutting, and handling materials with precision.
- Assist with the installation of various flooring types such as epoxy floors, vinyl, hardwood, carpets, and tile laying according to technical drawings and schematics.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install building materials while adhering to safety protocols.
- Help interpret construction plans and blueprints to ensure accurate placement of fixtures and flooring components.
- Carry out manual handling tasks including lifting heavy materials like tiles, cabinetry, or flooring rolls while maintaining proper safety standards.
- Aid in water damage restoration projects by removing damaged flooring or surfaces and preparing areas for repair or replacement.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials, supporting efficient workflow on-site.
Requirements
- Prior construction site experience or hands-on experience with building material installation is preferred.
- Familiarity with using hand tools such as caulking guns, saws, drills, and measuring devices.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings related to flooring installation projects.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while lifting heavy or bulky materials regularly.
- Basic understanding of construction safety standards and building installation safety compliance.
- Experience with various flooring installations including tile laying, epoxy floors, vinyl floors, hardwoods, carpets, and floor refinishing is a plus.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail; eager to learn new skills like restoration industry practices or cabinet installation.
