Job Title: Furniture Installer Assistant
Report To: Furniture Installer Coordinator / Décor Manager

Job Summary
The Furniture installer will be installing furniture according to the directions you receive, and assembling items on-site as curtains, mirrors, wall art decor, tv’s and more. Also help prepare the job site and clean up after the installation is complete.
Receives, stores, and issues materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.
Furniture Installer Duties Responsibilities:
· Load and unload the truck.
· Install furniture such as wall art décor, curtains, linens, silver wear and house wear according to blueprints, instruction or job tickets.
· Mount cabinets and bookshelves.
· Mount Tv’s.
· Prep and clean up the job site.
· Assemble furniture as needed.
· Verifies dimensions and checks the quality or fit of pieces to ensure specifications are met.
· Sets up or operates professional drill.
· Reinforces joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare cabinets for finishing.
· Attaches parts to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps.
· Uses blueprints to shape or assemble parts.
· Matches materials for color, grain, or texture.
· Unloads inbound shipments and loads outbound shipments safely and efficiently.
· Moves materials in and out of storage locations accurately and without damage to items.
· Moves materials from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers and/or other transport vehicles.
· Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
· Pulls and prepares materials for shipment.
· Maintains equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
· Inspects and performs minor maintenance on power equipment.
· Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner per company policies.
· Keeps well-organized records and reports.
· Ensures proper stock rotation.
· Complies with all safety rules.
· Performs minor repairs on equipment, as needed.
· Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
· Moves, locates, relocates, stacks, and counts stock with the assistance of a forklift, clamp truck and/or other power equipment.
· Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
· Examines and inspects stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
· Receives and counts stock items, and records data manually or using computer.
· Marks stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
· Operate safely, be aware of hazardous conditions, report all unsafe conditions to the manager.
· Wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses) when operating power tools.
· Ask for help if uncertain or struggling to complete a task.
· Inspect the house prior to unloading furniture in.
· Inspect and clean the house after furniture is done and the house is ready to be delivered.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
· High school diploma or GED certificate
· Familiarity with basic hand tools
· Ability to follow directions.

· License: Valid state driver's license; valid Class B license
· Certification: OSHA Forklift Training certificate preferred.

Work Experience and Skills
· One (1) to three (3) years of experience within this type of environment.
Furniture Installer Physical Demands
Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work requires physical effort and the use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, or balance weight for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift, push, or pull equipment/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds. With mechanical assistance, employees will occasionally move up to 300 pounds. Regularly operate material handling equipment that requires manual dexterity and use of lightweight tools requiring some coordinated movements. Activities include using four-wheel dollies, panel carts, hand trucks, or pallet jacks to move furniture; and all tools required to assemble, install, or repair furniture.
Work Conditions
Employees will work indoors/outdoors, working with exposure to hazards, etc.
Pay: From $19.50 per hour
