Parkview Regional Medical Center - Ped and Teen ICU
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a seven‑bed, age‑specific critical care unit serving patients from newborn through age 18 who require progressive or intensive medical‑surgical care. The unit manages a wide range of high‑acuity conditions, providing both progressive‑level and ICU‑level support depending on patient needs. Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team supported by patient care technicians, with staffing ratios adjusted based on acuity, including 3:1 for progressive‑level patients and 2:1 or 1:1 for ICU‑level patients. The PICU emphasizes close monitoring, specialized pediatric care, and collaboration to ensure safe, high‑quality outcomes for critically ill children and their families.
