We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our inpatient substance abuse treatment team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a behavioral health or substance abuse treatment setting and a passion for supporting individuals in recovery.
This position plays an important role in providing direct client support, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, and assisting the clinical and nursing teams with daily operations.
Available Shifts:
PRN: Days and Overnights (minimum 4 shifts a month)
FT: Days and Overnights 3x12's
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and supervision to clients in an inpatient treatment environment
- Monitor client behavior and ensure safety throughout the facility
- Assist with client admissions, discharges, and daily activities
- Conduct routine vital signs and report concerns to nursing staff
- Facilitate transportation and assist with client appointments when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and shift notes
- Support clients through crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when appropriate
- Assist with meal supervision, room checks, and medication line monitoring
- Collaborate with clinical, medical, and operations teams to ensure quality client care
- Help maintain a structured, positive, and recovery-focused environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a behavioral health, mental health, or substance abuse treatment setting preferred
- Experience working in an inpatient or residential setting is a plus
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Team-oriented with a positive and compassionate attitude
- Basic computer and documentation skills required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
