Tiello has partnered with a leading General Contractor in Philadelphia, PA who is seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team.
Position Overview
The Payroll & AR Specialist is highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. This individual must be comfortable processing both union and non-union payroll while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
The Payroll & Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for processing weekly payroll, managing client invoicing, monitoring accounts receivable, and supporting the accounting department with financial reporting and administrative functions. The ideal candidate has experience in the construction industry and understands prevailing wage, certified payroll, lien waivers, and AIA billing.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees.
- Maintain union benefit contributions, dues, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with collective bargaining agreements, prevailing wage requirements, and company policies.
- Review payroll for accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Experience processing union and non-union payroll required.
- Working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, certified payroll, prevailing wage, and union fringe benefits is strongly preferred.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of payroll and/or accounts receivable experience.
- Experience working for a General Contractor or construction company strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of AIA billing, job costing, and construction accounting.
- Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage 300, Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, Foundation, or QuickBooks.
