Overview
We are looking Medical Receptionist Technician to join our healthcare team at Sunny Hills Medical Center. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical responsibilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through effective communication, precise documentation, and proficient use of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Training for TMS technician responsibilities will be provided. Benefits are for full time positions.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments using medical scheduling software (OfficeAlly and SolvHealth).
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Review and update medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems, maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies.
- Assist with medical billing and coding procedures by applying CPT codes, ICD-10 diagnosis codes, and Medicare guidelines to ensure accurate claim submission.
- Handle phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies using proper phone etiquette while addressing inquiries promptly.
- Support clinical staff by reviewing care plans, verifying documentation accuracy, and managing medical records filing and organization.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry with high typing accuracy (10-key typing), maintaining office supplies, and supporting overall clinic management activities.
TMS Technician Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for TMS sessions and explain the treatment process.
- Operate TMS equipment according to the prescribed treatment protocol.
- Position the treatment coil correctly and maintain consistent treatment settings.
- Monitor patients during sessions for comfort, response, and possible side effects.
- Document treatment sessions, patient responses, and relevant observations accurately.
- Submit pre-authorizations to appropriate insurance companies for approval.
- Communicate concerns, changes in symptoms, or adverse reactions to the supervising clinician.
- Maintain patient privacy and follow HIPAA/confidentiality requirements.
- Clean and prepare treatment rooms and equipment between patients.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report technical or safety issues.
- Coordinate appointments and support patient attendance/adherence to the treatment schedule.
- Provide professional, compassionate patient support throughout the treatment course.
- Follow clinical policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, medical assistants, and other behavioral-health staff.
- Multitasking including patient follow up calls and helping out all other departments and covering for other staff.
Experience
- Previous clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred, especially in a dental or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance processes, medical billing procedures, and health information management standards.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems is essential.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10), and Medicare guidelines to ensure precise documentation review and billing accuracy.
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for administrative support tasks.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain clinical confidentiality policies while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
