Who will you be working with?
You will interact with team members at all levels of the organization. You’ll work most closely with members of the manufacturing engineering and operations team toward the goal of efficiently producing parts which meet Wabtec’s standards for quality.
How will you make a difference?
As a member of the Wabtec Graham White Quality Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that products are being produced to the highest quality standards and work toward the reduction of non-conforming products.
What do we want to know about you?
- Do you have at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, Quality or other technical role?
- Are you proficient in Microsoft Office software – Word and Excel?
- Do you have experience using measurement devices and gauges?
- Do you have effective interpersonal skills with all levels of employees and ability to work with various departments throughout the organization?
- Have you demonstrated the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally?
What will your typical day look like?
- Document calibrations and maintain records in the calibration software.
- Calibrate, maintain and, when necessary, replace or upgrade gauges and measurement devices of all types used throughout the organization.
- Manage gauge calibrations with outside labs.
- Create and issue nonconformance reports, corrective actions and maintain records of both.
- Perform containment activity related to defective material.
- Inspect incoming material and internally produced items and document those inspections.
- Communicate with shop floor personnel to identify product and process problems and implement solutions.
- Communicate directly with suppliers on all quality related topics.
- Become trained and perform process audits as needed.
- Assist with warranty evaluations as needed.
- Perform other QA departmental activities as needed.
What about the physical demands of the job?
- Frequently stands, walks, sits, handles, reaches outward, reaches up, bends, and lifts 0-20 lbs
- Occasionally climbs, squats or kneels, and lifts over 20 lbs.
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.
