What You Will Do:

Develops strong, positive relationships with students and their families

Adapt curriculum materials and classroom work to meet the needs of students as needed

Administer assessments (classroom, district, etc.)

Lead small group instruction to improve student success in academics

Manage student behavior and provide a safe and orderly learning environment

Model appropriate verbal communication to help students develop/improve their skills

Participate in professional learning activities

Monitor student activities in and around the school to ensure the safety of every student in the classroom, in the cafeteria, and on the playground

Carry out responsibilities with little or no prompting.

Demonstrate professional behavior in manner and appearance.

Work cooperatively with building staff.

Regular, timely, and predictable attendance
Need to Have:

Bachelor in teaching or be currently enrolled in an alternative certification program.

Able to assess and document student progress

Professional in personal conduct and actions

Strong organizational, classroom management, collaboration and communication skills

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with young children, parents, staff, administration, and the general public

Demonstrated competence in the use of technology

Active and continuous learner in the area of elementary education, research-based instructional strategies
