Job summary
To plan and carry out direct marketing and product specific activities so as to maintain existing relationships and develop new sales opportunities for the BelGAS Product Line. The primary target of this effort is to the Natural Gas industry, including Utilities, Municipalities, Transmission, Commercial, Industrial and HVAC markets in the domestic US market.
Summary of essential job functions
- Plan and prioritize personal development activities and customer/prospect contact toward achieving agreed business aims including costs and sales – especially managing personal time and productivity.
- Maintain and develop a computerized customer and prospect database.
- Plan and carry out direct sales and marketing efforts to agreed budgets and product mix with weekly progress reports to the BelGAS Business Unit Manager.
- Develop ideas and create offers for direct mail and marketing to major accounts.
- Maintain and develop existing and new customer relationships through planned individual account management, and possible liaison with appropriate BelGAS Distributor, as well as individual account support.
- Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.
- Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys.
- Provide support, research and backup information for the BelGAS Product Line, and direct business opportunities accordingly, either through Distribution or Direct Sales, as relating to the follow-up on new opportunities, building and mentoring customer relationships, and new, relevant information to obtain sales goals.
- Ability to develop working relationships with the cross functional teams of BelGAS and Marsh Bellofram.
Minimum requirements
- 3-5 years experience in Natural Gas Industry (Utility, Transmission, Industrial, Chemical, or HVAC) or other industrial manufacturing sales role with extensive knowledge and experience in sales and account management
- Knowledge of computer database construction and development, MS Office Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM systems.
- Ability to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance.
- Must be very competent writer of business letters and proposals.
- Must be competent in public speaking and able to give sales presentations.
- 4-year degree from accredited college or university. Industry experience could negate this.
Abilities required
This position requires a self-driven individual, results oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on the task at hand. Reliable, tolerant and determined, empathic communicator, well presented and business like, sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel the US. Excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator with the ability to demonstrate success in managing major accounts and large, high-level contacts.
