Fast growing concrete and masonry company is seeking a residential estimator. We are seeking someone who is reliable with experience in the field, limited training will be provided.
This is a key role within our operations team responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates:
Estimator will:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bids for residential construction projects, with an emphasis on concrete and masonry scopes.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and construction documents to develop accurate takeoffs and pricing
- Collaborate with field superintendents, and owners to ensure timely delivery and successful execution of project quotes
- Support procurement by soliciting and analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Coordinate preconstruction submittals and documentation
- Develop and maintain positive client and vendor relationships throughout project execution
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating or project management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- Deep understanding of concrete construction practices related to civil infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, details, and specifications
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, production rates
- Strong math and analytical skills; ability to compute areas, volumes, and production durations with precision
- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and best practices for construction environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
