Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Operator and Tool Pusher, the floorhand will work with a three to five person crew responsible for assisting in all duties on the rig site to include rigging up and down, picking up or laying down tubing, working the rig floor and providing maintenance and repairs on a workover rig.

Summary of Duties: (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following)
Core Rig Operations
- · Operate rig floor equipment including slips, tongs and elevators.
- · Pick up and lay down pipe; latch tubing in elevators.
- · Pull, run, and handle rods and tubing.
- · Assist in pipe tallying, rigging up and down and nippling up/down BOP units.
- · Assist in rigging up and rigging down the workover rig.
- · Lift, install, remove and operate wellhead equipment, pumping units, matting boards, tubing, rods, casing, rod strippers, polish rods, JU stripper heads and other production equipment as required.
- · Understand and assist with basic secondary lift mechanisms such as rod and electric submersible pumps.
Equipment Handling & Maintenance
- · Operate and use rig tools including rod wrenches, tubing/rod tongs, elevators, hand tools and powered rig tools.
- · Assist with loading and offloading pipe, tools and other materials.
- · Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance, including lubrication and minor adjustments.
- · Maintain rig site, tools, and equipment in clean and serviceable condition.
Safety & Compliance
- · Consistently wear all required PPE.
- · Complete Hazard ID and near-hit cards according to standard procedures.
- · Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSA), tailgate meetings, and scheduled safety trainings.
- · Follow company, customer, and regulatory health and safety policies.
- · Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions exist and report incidents or concerns promptly.
- · Actively participate in the company’s behavior-based safety and proactive reporting programs.
Additional Duties
- · Safely operate company vehicles, including crew trucks, to transport personnel and equipment.
- · When field or rig work is unavailable, assist with shop duties such as cleaning, organizing and equipment maintenance.
- · Mentor and train trainees in rig operations and safety practices.
- · Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- · Ability to communicate using basic oral and written communication.

- · Basic ability to identify hazards and perform Behavior-Based Safety Observations.
- · Ability to understand the role of a derrick hand during loss of well control events.
Working Conditions:
- · Ability to work outside in various and extreme weather conditions.
- · Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and bend to access equipment, rigs and vehicles.
- · Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time.
- · Exposure to chemicals, oils, grease, dust, fuel fumes or other irritants.
- · Exposure to loud noise.
- · Must be able to lift 75 lbs. repeatedly and handle physically demanding work.
- · Must be able to work at heights of greater than 12+ feet.
Education and Experience:
- · 6 months of experience working on a well servicing rig preferred.
- · Must be familiar with pump and tank operations.
- · Valid Driver’s License required, Commercial Driver License Preferred.
- · Must be able to successfully perform the duties of a floor hand.
- · Ability to show knowledge of running tongs and all other equipment.
- · Ability to perform manual labor required to operate well servicing equipment.
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
