Seeking an experienced Construction Inspections Supervisor to provide additional support within Design & Construction Management. Ideal candidate with strong municipal/public works construction inspection experience, prior city or local agency experience, and the ability to step into a leadership role quickly.
This position will oversee the daily activities of construction inspectors assigned to public works and capital improvement projects while also assisting with project documentation, pay requests, contract adjustments, and coordination with management, engineers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support construction inspectors on active municipal/public works projects
- Coordinate daily inspection coverage, assignments, and field activities
- Review inspector reports, project records, and construction documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with pay requests, quantity tracking, contract adjustments, and other contract administration tasks
- Attend meetings with management, project managers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders
- Help ensure construction work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, contract requirements, municipal standards, and safety expectations
- Provide technical guidance to inspectors and assist with resolving field issues, contractor questions, and project coordination concerns
Qualifications
- Experience in construction inspection, public works construction, or construction management.
- Prior municipal/city/public agency experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience supervising, leading, or coordinating construction inspectors or field staff preferred
- Experience with pay applications, contract administration, change order documentation, and construction records highly desirable
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills
Preferred Background
We are looking for someone who can step in with minimal ramp-up time and provide immediate support to both field and management staff. Candidates with experience overseeing municipal capital improvement projects, working directly with inspectors, contractors, and city management, and supporting construction administration and project documentation will be especially well suited for this role.
