The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing landscape construction projects from contract execution through final client walkthrough. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and field crews — ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to our high standards of quality and professionalism. The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional who thrives in a dynamic, outdoor work environment and leads with both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.
- Manage all phases of landscape construction projects including scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination of materials and subcontractors
- Develop detailed project schedules and monitor progress against milestones
- Conduct pre-construction site reviews and coordinate with design and estimating teams
- Ensure all permits, inspections, and compliance requirements are met prior to and throughout project execution
- Serve as the primary client liaison throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct regular project update meetings and walkthroughs with clients
- Resolve client concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining strong relationships
- Communicate project status, changes, and issues to ownership and the operations team in a clear and timely manner
- Supervise field crews and subcontractors to ensure work meets specifications and quality standards
- Conduct daily or weekly site visits to monitor progress, safety, and workmanship
- Review and approve site work against project plans, drawings, and scope of work
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, or scope changes in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Track project costs against budgets and flag variances early to prevent overruns
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices and material purchases
- Maintain complete project documentation including change orders, RFIs, daily logs, and closeout packages
- Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons learned to support continuous improvement
- 3–5+ years of experience in landscape construction, civil construction, or related field project management
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods including grading, drainage, hardscaping, irrigation, and planting
- Proven experience managing field crews, subcontractors, and vendors
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with project management tools, scheduling software, and basic estimating
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate active job sites
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus
- Experience with construction management software
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Pesticide applicator license or irrigation certifications

This position requires a combination of office and administrative work alongside active field presence on job sites throughout the Charlotte, NC area. The Construction Project Manager should expect to spend a significant portion of their time outdoors on active construction sites and must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Reliable transportation and a willingness to travel between multiple project sites on a regular basis are essential to success in this role.
