American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 10-week night shift travel contract requiring telemetry skills, Epic experience, and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting with 34 staffed beds
-
Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Standard patient ratio of 1:6, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned staffing shortages
-
Every other weekend required
-
On-call (low census) required on a PRN basis
-
Floating within scope to similar units or sister facilities may be required
-
Charting via Epic EMR
-
Royal blue scrubs required
-
Free parking available

Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start

Current BLS certification required (AHA only)

ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred (AHA only)

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience preferred
-
Experience with telemetry, MS/Tele, insulin management, and rapid response required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs

Pre-assignment online modules are required to be completed before the start date

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
