Job Summary
This individual is responsible for interacting professionally with patients, gathering information pertinent to task at hand and answering patient questions. This individual must enjoy the customer service portion of their position.
Responsibilities and Duties
- This individual must clearly understand the value of customer service to be effective in this position.
- Multi-tasking is essential to this position with emphasis on organizational skills and the ability to work with other organizations, creating the best surgical schedule for the patient as well as the physician.
- Data entry must be accurate and timely in patient chart.
- Inform patients of any restrictions prior to surgery and/or post op directions.
- Write up consent forms.
- Individual must communicate with patients, physicians and surgery centers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Must have working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT codes and surgical cost.
- Must foresee any financial problems and direct them to the appropriate individual.
- Individual must be highly organized and detailed oriented.
- Must have working knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of surgical/in office procedures.
- Must keep abreast of the current surgery schedules for each doctor- who, what, where, when and why.
- Must be proficient in completing pre-op paperwork and explaining surgical schedules to the patient and possibly their families.
- Ensure the confidentiality of medical records and the information within.
- Ensure preparation of all medical records in a timely fashion including: authorizations, referrals and financial payments.
Qualifications and Skills
Candidate must have at least 1 year experience as an Ear, Nose, and Throat surgery scheduler.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)

- Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
- Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
