American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care (LTC) position at a nursing home setting, working 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement.

Work setting is a 70-bed nursing home attached to a hospital, with the majority of private rooms
-
LTC/SNF unit serving a post-acute care population
-
Common patient diagnoses include dementia, frailty, and elderly rehabilitation
-
RN-to-patient ratio is 1:20
-
12-hour night shifts
-
Every other weekend required
-
Must be available for at least half of holidays during the assignment
-
No on-call or standby requirements
-
Floating may be required
-
EMR system is ECS (transitioning from Cerner to Epic)

IV administration is required on this unit
-
13-week contract
-
Active WI RN license or compact RN license required (must be active by start date)

Current BLS certification (AHA) required
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
-
Experience working with elderly patients required
-
LTC or SNF setting experience strongly preferred

BSN is not required
-
Primary responsibilities include charting, patient assessments, charge nurse duties, medication administration, and clinical skills such as IV therapy, catheterization, and ostomy care
-
Interdisciplinary team includes therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, housekeeping, and respiratory therapy (RT on-site 24/7)

Physician availability and DON/charge nurse/house supervisor support available after hours

On-site pharmacy with medication dispensing system available

Orientation hours vary based on individual skill set

Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; attire must be clean and professional

Candidates who previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date

Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate

Two professional references are required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years of relevant experience
