The Nagler Group is partnering with a well-established technology and research organization in Manchester, NH to identify an experienced Senior Benefits Manager. What You'll Do
Plan Administration & Vendor Management
- Own end-to-end administration of the full benefits portfolio including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, and supplemental programs
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and wellness vendors; lead contract negotiations and hold vendors accountable to performance expectations
- Drive open enrollment from start to finish — communications planning, system setup, employee education, and post-enrollment reconciliation
- Coordinate leave administration including FMLA, STD, and LTD in close partnership with payroll and people managers
Benefits Strategy & Plan Design
- Evaluate existing benefit offerings and bring forward data-driven recommendations for program enhancements that balance cost and employee value
- Collaborate with Finance to model benefit spend scenarios, set annual budgets, and build multi-year program roadmaps
- Present strategic recommendations and business cases to HR and senior leadership with clarity and confidence
- Stay ahead of industry trends and workforce needs to ensure offerings remain competitive and relevant
Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain full compliance across all benefit programs in accordance with FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and IRS guidelines
- Track legislative and regulatory changes and proactively update plan documents and internal processes
- Serve as the internal point of contact for audits, regulatory inquiries, and escalated claim issues
Employee Support & Communication
- Create and deliver benefits communications that are clear, accessible, and meaningful to a diverse employee population
- Lead new hire benefits orientations and serve as a go-to resource for employee questions and escalations
- Actively solicit and respond to employee feedback to improve the overall benefits experience
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Dig into claims data, utilization trends, and cost patterns to surface actionable insights
- Prepare regular benefits reporting for HR leadership and Finance on spend, participation, and program performance
- Use data to tell a story and drive smarter decisions around plan design and wellness strategy
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- 10+ years of HR experience with at least 5 years focused on benefits management
- Hands-on experience with self-funded health plan structures and third-party administrator relationships
- Deep working knowledge of FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and relevant employment regulations
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex claims and cost data and translate it into strategy
- Experience managing vendor contracts and holding external partners accountable
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and benefits administration systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to leadership and connect with employees equally well
