About Us
Independent Restoration Services (IRS) is a growing residential remediation company built on a simple promise: when a homeowner's world is turned upside down by fire, water, or mold damage, we show up fast, do the job right, and treat their home like it's our own. We're available 24/7 because disasters don't wait for business hours — and neither do we.
We're building a team of skilled, trustworthy professionals who take pride in doing things the right way and want to grow with a company that's just getting started. If you're looking to join on the ground floor of something with real opportunity for advancement, we want to hear from you.
The Role
We're hiring a Project Manager to run residential restoration jobs from start to finish, independently, and to our standard. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll need the same technical skills as an experienced field technician, plus the judgment, maturity, and people skills to manage a job, a crew, and a homeowner's trust all at once. You are the face of IRS on every job you run, how you show up is how the company shows up.
What You'll Do
- Own the job from initial walkthrough through final completion, managing scope, timeline, and quality
- Assess fire, water, and mold damage and determine the appropriate scope of work
- Lead and direct field technicians on-site, including containment setup, demolition, extraction, drying, and cleanup
- Ensure all work meets industry standards (IICRC) and company quality expectations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the homeowner throughout the job, communicating clearly, setting expectations, and following through
- Keep the customer informed and reassured during what is often a stressful and disruptive experience
- Document job progress thoroughly (photos, notes, moisture readings, scope changes) for accurate reporting and invoicing
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters, vendors, and subcontractors as needed
- Manage job-site safety and ensure crew compliance with PPE and protocols
- Order materials and equipment, manage job budgets, and keep jobs on schedule
- Identify and resolve problems on-site without needing to escalate every decision
- Represent IRS with honesty and professionalism at all times: no exceptions!
What We're Looking For
- Character and maturity first. You'll often be the only IRS representative in a homeowner's house, making decisions and leading a team. We need someone who is unquestionably honest, dependable, and level-headed under pressure.
- Prior experience in restoration, construction, or a related trade, ideally with some crew leadership or project management experience
- Strong technical knowledge of water, fire, or mold remediation practices (IICRC certifications a plus, or willingness to obtain them)
- Proven ability to manage a job site independently, without close supervision
- Excellent communication skills: able to explain technical issues to homeowners in plain, reassuring language
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget on multiple jobs
- Calm, professional demeanor when working with stressed or upset homeowners
- Basic computer/smartphone proficiency for documentation, estimating software, and communication
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Available for on-call/emergency response rotation, including some nights and weekends
Why Join IRS
- Competitive pay, based on experience, with growth potential as the company scales
- Real ownership over your jobs. We trust you to run things right!
- Hands-on leadership role with a direct path to more responsibility as IRS grows
- IICRC certification support and continued training
- Meaningful work. You're leading the effort to get families back into their homes
- Company vehicle and equipment provided for job use
To Apply
Submit your resume and relevant experience, including any leadership or project management background. What matters most to us is character, judgment, and the ability to earn a homeowner's trust. Background check required.
