Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, move, and organize materials throughout the warehouse.
- Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with order picking using various systems such as warehouse management system (WMS) and <PERSON> picker tools to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Manage shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing inventory on pallets, racks, or shelves while adhering to safety standards outlined by OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and improve overall warehouse workflow.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining proper ergonomic practices; utilize pallet jacks and other handling equipment for materials movement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts (including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo) and heavy equipment within a warehouse setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), order picking procedures, shipping & receiving protocols, and materials handling techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, or weight assessments.
- Prior experience in warehouse management or supervision is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
- Valid certification for forklift operation is preferred; ongoing training opportunities are available for growth.
