Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team for the NOC (night) shift. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional nursing care to our residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and health needs are met through skilled assessments, medication administration, and support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference during overnight hours in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to monitor health status.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medical documentation in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Manage airway care, ventilator support, IV infusions, catheterization, and sterile procedures with precision and aseptic technique.
- Perform specimen collection, processing, phlebotomy, and diagnostic evaluation tasks adhering to infection control standards.
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, including memory care and behavioral health management.
- Assist with discharge planning, case management, and coordination of post-acute or hospice care services as needed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records while supporting patient care initiatives like pain management and nutrition.
Experience
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities is highly preferred.
- Critical care experience in settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers enhances your ability to handle acute situations effectively.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical terminology is advantageous for accurate recordkeeping.
- Experience with IV infusion therapy, medication administration, wound suturing, and infection control practices is desirable.
- Background in emergency medicine or urgent care environments will support your ability to respond swiftly during emergencies like airway management or acute pain episodes.
