Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems to ensure peak operational efficiency.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and shocks & struts replacements to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues on heavy equipment like excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and industrial machinery.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repair procedures or when performing on-site service calls for farm machinery or industrial equipment.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Assist in assembly or reassembly of equipment after repairs or modifications to ensure proper function and safety compliance.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with the use of power tools is essential for effective troubleshooting and repairs.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers is preferred.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues across various industrial or automotive systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement, suspension work, HVAC servicing, and tire service.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to automotive or industrial equipment is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely during repairs; familiarity with service technician standards ensures quality work under safety guidelines.
