Sun Painting is seeking skilled and experienced Commercial Painters to join our growing team. Ideal candidates will have experience working on commercial painting projects and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism.
Location: Charlottesville, VA and surrounding areas
In this role, you will be responsible for surface preparation, coating application, job site organization, and delivering high-quality finishes that meet Sun Painting’s standards and client expectations.

Sun Painting completes large-scale commercial painting projects throughout Central Virginia, including offices, schools, healthcare facilities, multi-family properties, industrial facilities, and other commercial spaces.
Some residential work may also be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, patching, caulking, cleaning, masking, and priming.
- Apply paints, stains, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and correct defects or issues to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and team members.
- Follow all company safety procedures and job site requirements.
- Represent Sun Painting professionally on all job sites and when interacting with clients.
- Assist with maintaining tools, equipment, and materials.
Qualifications Required
- Professional painting experience - 3-5 years minimum
- Knowledge of surface preparation and coating application techniques.
- Experience operating spray equipment and painting tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred
- Commercial painting experience.
- Experience working in occupied environments such as schools, healthcare facilities, office buildings, and multi-family properties.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
