We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team at Irving Park Living and Rehab, a community nursing facility that offers care, comfort, and the security of home in the heart of Chicago's Irving Park neighborhood. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals that cater to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve appetizing meals and snacks to our residents and staff, following established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with the Food Service Supervisor and Administrator to plan menus, order supplies, and manage inventory.
- Develop and implement creative and appealing menu options that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food preparation techniques, including cooking methods, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Requirements:
- Must have at least 1 year of experience as a Cook in a healthcare setting or equivalent.
- Food service and sanitation license and/or certification required.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions, as well as maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Familiarity with preparing a variety of cuisines, including meat, poultry, fish, grains, fruits, and vegetables.
