Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by efficiently managing multiple tasks
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality in all prepared items
- Assist with menu planning ideas and ingredient inventory management as needed
- Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presentation standards are met before serving
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with food handling protocols
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations within a restaurant or fine dining setting
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting, slicing, and dicing of ingredients
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling and sanitation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with meal preparation, catering, and serving in a fast-paced environment
