Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Heavy Duty Service Writer and Parts Person to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the Secondary point of contact for customers needing service and parts support for heavy-duty vehicles. Your expertise will help streamline service operations, provide exceptional customer service, and ensure accurate parts look up and helping with parts. Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport to understand their service needs for heavy-duty trucks and equipment
- Write detailed service orders, accurately documenting vehicle issues, repairs, and recommended services using estimating software
- Collaborate with technicians to relay diagnostic findings and assist with vehicle repair estimates
- Upsell additional services and parts by clearly explaining benefits to customers, enhancing their experience and increasing sales opportunities
- Help with parts inventory efficiently, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and locating parts needed for repairs
- Assist customers in selecting the right parts for their vehicles, providing technical guidance based on mechanical knowledge
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper documentation for all sales and service activities
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding vehicle status, repair timelines, and cost estimates to ensure transparency and satisfaction
- Assisting the service Manager in billing, quoting, parts, and willing to jump in anywhere needed.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Service Writer or Parts Person within repair shop specializing in heavy-duty vehicles
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, shocks & struts, tires, oil changes, alignments, and engine repairs
- Familiarity with Fullbay and computer estimating tools for accurate quoting
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Experience with dealership operations, auto service management, and auto estimating procedures is highly desirable
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics to better understand technician reports and facilitate accurate service writing
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while managing inventory efficiently
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to support vehicle test drives or related duties

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
