Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, including vehicle recovery towing equipment, to transport vehicles from accident scenes or breakdown locations
- Securely load and unload vehicles onto tow trucks following cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit
- Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs to facilitate efficient recovery operations
- Perform automotive diagnostics and minor mechanical vehicle repairs as needed to assist with vehicle issues on-site
- Follow all safety procedures for vehicle loading onto tow trucks and ensure compliance with traffic laws during transport
- Assist customers professionally by providing clear communication, support during roadside incidents, and exceptional service
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, including details of vehicle condition, location, and services provided
Skills
- MUST HAVE HEAVY TOW EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving and car towing with a valid driver’s license suitable for heavy-duty vehicles
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform automotive diagnostics, minor repairs, and basic troubleshooting
- Familiarity with cargo securement protocols to ensure safe transportation of vehicles
- Excellent driving skills with experience operating manual transmissions and heavy tow trucks in various conditions
- Ability to manage conflict effectively while maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of vehicle mechanics specific to truck drivers and automotive repair techniques
- Competence in using equipment such as forklifts for loading or unloading when necessary
- Exceptional customer service skills to assist clients courteously during roadside emergencies
