Job Summary
The Hermitage Tower is seeking a highly skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to maintain our building, equipment, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, and general building repairs.
We are looking for a reliable professional who can diagnose problems, complete quality repairs, respond promptly to maintenance requests, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment
- Diagnose and repair plumbing fixtures, pipes, drains, and water systems
- Perform carpentry work, including repairing doors, cabinets, walls, flooring, and trim
- Maintain pumps, motors, boilers, and other mechanical equipment
- Complete preventive maintenance according to established schedules
- Respond promptly to routine and emergency maintenance requests
- Identify building problems and recommend appropriate repairs
- Perform painting, drywall repair, and general property maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and completed work orders
- Keep tools, equipment, workshops, and maintenance areas clean and organized
- Follow all safety procedures and applicable building regulations
- Coordinate with licensed contractors when specialized work is required
Requirements
- At least five years of professional building-maintenance experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems
- Proven ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently
- Experience maintaining residential, commercial, or senior-living properties preferred
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and workplace safety practices
- Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, and maintenance instructions
- Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined areas
- Ability to safely lift and carry maintenance equipment and supplies
- Relevant trade licenses, HVAC certification, or other maintenance certifications are preferred
Schedule
- Full-time
- Regular and dependable attendance is required
- Some evening, weekend, or emergency on-call availability may be required
Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
