Twin Falls High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated art educator to inspire and engage students in grades 9-12. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with state standards and encourages creative expression.
- Teach a variety of art techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and collaboration.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their artistic development.
- Organize and oversee art exhibitions, competitions, and other extracurricular activities to showcase student work.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and school events.
- Maintain an organized and safe classroom space, ensuring that all materials and equipment are properly managed.
- Stay current with art education trends, techniques, and technology to enhance instructional practices.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for secondary education in the state of Idaho.
- Strong knowledge of various art forms, techniques, and contemporary art practices.
- Experience teaching art at the high school level is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and the school community.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A portfolio showcasing personal artwork and previous student work is highly desirable.
