Duties
- Develop and implement dynamic curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori methods if applicable, to promote literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and physical development.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management strategies.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that support their cognitive, emotional, and social growth through hands-on learning experiences.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any behavioral or developmental concerns.
- Maintain detailed records of child development progress, standardized testing results, and lesson plans to ensure comprehensive documentation of each child's journey.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed diligently by adhering to first aid and CPR standards; respond promptly to emergencies or incidents in compliance with mandated reporting laws.
- Collaborate with colleagues on classroom management techniques, special education needs, early intervention strategies, and inclusive practices to support diverse learners.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, physical education activities, and standardized testing procedures for young children.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of child welfare laws and mandated reporting requirements is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young learners is a plus; familiarity with Montessori methods is desirable.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics efficiently while fostering a positive learning environment that promotes social-emotional well-being.
