Seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and experienced Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children while guiding assistant teachers and supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood curriculum standards
- Create a positive, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
- Supervise and support teacher assistants within the classroom
- Observe, assess, and document student progress and development
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student development and classroom activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Manage classroom routines including transitions, meals, and rest times
- Ensure compliance with all school policies and early childhood education regulations
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
- Collaborate with administration and other teachers to support school programs and curriculum goals
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field OR minimum 90 college credits in Early Childhood Education or related education field
- New York State Teacher Certification preferred
- Previous experience working with preschool or early childhood age groups
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills
- Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
- Passion for early childhood education and child development
Salary
- Certified Teachers: Up to $80,000 per year
- Non-Certified Teachers: Up to $67,000 per year
