Responsibilities
- Remove damaged or broken auto glass safely using hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety protocols.
- Measure and cut glass manually or with specialized equipment to ensure perfect fitment for each vehicle model.
- Install new auto glass, including windshields, side windows, and rear windows, ensuring proper fitting and sealing.
- Perform automotive glass repairs when possible, restoring integrity without full replacement.
- Handle glass materials carefully during transport, storage, and installation to prevent damage or injury.
- Operate company vehicles to transport tools, equipment, and vehicles needing service or repair.
- Use automotive repair knowledge to assist with related tasks such as auto body repair or vehicle maintenance when needed.
- Conduct quality checks post-installation to verify proper fitment, sealing, and overall appearance.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed using auto estimating software and document customer interactions professionally.
- Support additional services like window tinting or detailing to enhance vehicle aesthetics and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or hands-on automotive glass installation background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience handling hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
- Ability to perform manual glass cutting accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of automotive glass materials handling, replacement techniques, and auto body repair fundamentals.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients’ needs.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely during glass handling and installation tasks.
- Experience operating company vehicles responsibly in compliance with safety standards.
- Basic understanding of auto estimating software for job documentation purposes.
- Commitment to safety practices such as power tool safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
