We are looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician / Electrical Installation Technician to join our field crew in the Ball Ground, GA and Anderson, SC areas. This is a traveling position - we go where the manufacturing facilities are. This involves being 1-2 weeks at a time out on the road.
This position focuses on industrial machinery installation, power feeds, electrical removals, disconnects, conduit, wire pulls, equipment hookups, and plant electrical work. This is not residential electrical work, and it is not primarily a PLC/programming position.
Our company installs, relocates, removes, and services industrial machinery, especially equipment used in manufacturing and corrugated box plants. We need someone who can work safely in industrial environments, understand 3-phase power, install clean electrical work, and help get machines disconnected, moved, reinstalled, and powered back up.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install electrical power feeds for industrial machinery
- Disconnect, remove, and reconnect machinery during relocations and installations
- Install and terminate disconnects, junction boxes, wireway, conduit, cable tray, and machine power drops
- Pull and terminate wire for 3-phase motors, machine feeds, panels, and equipment connections
- Assist with electrical demolition and removal of obsolete machine wiring
- Trace, label, and document wires before equipment removal
- Install conduit, flexible conduit, fittings, supports, and fasteners
- Work with 480V 3-phase, 240V, 120V, and control power circuits
- Assist with mounting panels, disconnects, transformers, and electrical enclosures
- Check voltage, phase rotation, continuity, grounding, and basic circuit condition
- Read and follow electrical drawings, panel schedules, machine manuals, and installation layouts
- Work with riggers, millwrights, mechanics, plant electricians, and customer maintenance teams
- Follow lockout/tagout and site safety requirements
- Travel to customer sites for machinery installations, removals, and service work
Required Qualifications
- Industrial or commercial electrical experience
- Experience installing conduit, wire, disconnects, panels, and equipment feeds
- Understanding of 3-phase power and industrial machinery electrical connections
- Ability to use a multimeter safely and correctly
- Ability to read basic electrical drawings and follow installation instructions
- Experience with lockout/tagout and industrial safety practices
- Ability to work around production machinery and active manufacturing environments
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects
- Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work as part of a field crew
Preferred Experience
- Experience installing or relocating industrial machinery
- Experience in manufacturing plants, corrugated box plants, packaging plants, or industrial facilities
- Experience with 480V machine power feeds
- Experience bending and installing EMT, rigid, PVC, and flexible conduit
- Experience with cable tray, wireway, machine drops, cord drops, and overhead feeds
- Ability to identify and label machine wiring before removal
- Basic troubleshooting experience with motors, starters, overloads, disconnects, and control circuits
- Forklift, lift, or jobsite equipment experience is a plus
- Mechanical or rigging experience is a plus
- Electrical license or journeyman-level experience is a plus
What This Job Is
This is hands-on industrial electrical installation work.
A typical project may include removing power from old machinery, labeling wiring, disconnecting equipment, pulling out old conduit, installing new conduit and wire, setting disconnects, running new feeds, reconnecting machinery, checking voltage and phase rotation, and helping bring equipment back online.
What This Job Is Not
This is not residential wiring.
This is not a desk job.
This is not mainly PLC programming.
This is not a maintenance job where you stay in one plant every day.

Compensation
