The Server is responsible for serving food and beverages with the highest level of customer service to guests throughout the restaurant and pool area. They are responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the FOH and server stations, knowing all aspects of the menu descriptions and specialty cocktails, all server side work and communicating with both guests and management to ensure brand standards are met at all times.
Responsibilities and Duties

Arrive for work on –time in dress code with all tools, pens, wine opener, pad

Accurately describe menu items, Property history, specialty drinks and wine for complete guest satisfaction

Describe all dishes accurately and knows all dishes including allergies and dietary restrictions

Serve special events as needed and work holiday and special services as needed.

Take orders and serve guests at the pool area while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the pool section

Accommodate any special requests and check with kitchen to ensure we can do it

Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing throughout the entire meal.

Handles money efficiently and accurately

Ring in food & drinks into POS accurately

Safely and swiftly carry drink trays and properly serve drinks without having to place tray on table

Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment

Communicate with guests regarding menu and beverages & property information and history

Up-sell menu items and specials to maximize food and beverage revenue

- Serve menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner and according to established service standards

Note timing of meal progression and notify kitchen and or management

Perform pre and post side work efficiently

Settle guest payments; make accurate change for guest and process credit card transactions correctly

Monitor and observe guest’s dining experience. Ensure guests are having a great time, and are completely satisfied with food and service

Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course in advance of food delivery

Run food as needed, especially for large parties and during peak hours

Maintain assigned tables and assist the support staff when needed

Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to manager

Assist with the restock and replenishment of inventory and supplies
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to the duration of a scheduled shift

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 25–40 pounds such as trays of food, beverage carts, and supplies

Bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and twist to serve guests, clear tables, and restock supplies

Maintain balance and coordination while carrying trays, plates, and beverages in potentially crowded or fast-paced environments

Use hands and fingers for repetitive tasks such as handling plates, glassware, silverware, and point-of-sale (POS) devices

Communicate clearly and effectively with guests, team members, and management, including in high-noise environments

Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure guest and coworker safety
-
Work in varying environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor dining areas, and exposure to heat, cold, or weather elements where applicable
Qualifications/Skills Needed

Previous applicable server experience

Must be at least 18 years of age in accordance with California law governing the service of alcoholic beverages
-
Must have a valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment; River Lodge Paso covers the expense

Must have a valid Food Handler Card or the ability the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment; River Lodge Paso covers the expense

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members

Strong listening and oral communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy

Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash, process payments, and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system

Ability to communicate effectively in English; additional languages are a plus

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs
