Position Summary:
The Assistant Infant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants (typically ages 6 weeks to 15 months). This role involves helping implement daily routines, fostering early developmental skills, and ensuring each child receives attentive, individualized care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily care of infants, including feeding, diapering, dressing, and soothing
- Support the implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in accordance with licensing regulations
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including safe sleep practices
- Help prepare classroom materials and maintain supplies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Prior experience working with infants or in a childcare setting is a plus
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in physical activity throughout the day
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor
This position could be part or full time. We can be flexible for the right fit! Looking to add a new team member for June!
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
