The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that promote the company’s services, brand, and competitive positioning within the construction industry.
This role provides strategic direction, team leadership, and performance oversight across all marketing functions, including proposal development, digital marketing, branding, and internal communications.
The ideal candidate combines construction industry knowledge, business development acumen, and leadership capability to drive growth, support project pursuits, and elevate brand presence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s overall marketing strategy aligned with business development goals
- Establish annual marketing plans, budgets, and performance targets
- Lead and mentor marketing staff, consultants, and external vendors
- Partner with executive leadership to support strategic growth initiatives and market expansion
- Ensure alignment between marketing, operations, and business development teams
2. Proposal & Business Development Support
- Support the preparation and execution of RFQs, RFPs, and bid proposals
- Develop standardized processes, templates, and content libraries for pursuit efforts
- Ensure all proposals are high-quality, compliant, and strategically positioned to win work
- Support interview strategy, messaging, and presentation development
- Analyze win/loss data to refine pursuit strategies and improve success rates
3. Brand Management & Marketing Materials
- Serve as the brand steward, ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications
- Direct development of:
- Capability statements and brochures
- Project case studies and success stories
- Client presentations and award submissions
- Oversee project photography, videography, and documentation efforts
- Continuously enhance company positioning and differentiation in the marketplace
4. Digital Marketing & Communications
- Lead digital marketing strategy, including website, social media, and content development
- Oversee content creation related to:
- Safety performance
- Project milestones
- Company achievements and workforce initiatives
- Monitor analytics and performance metrics to optimize engagement and ROI
- Manage external communications and brand messaging across all platforms
5. Internal Communications & Workforce Branding
- Oversee internal communication strategies, including leadership messaging and company-wide updates
- Partner with HR and operations to support recruitment marketing and employer branding initiatives
- Strengthen organizational culture through consistent and professional communication
6. Events & Industry Engagement
- Lead planning and execution of:
- Trade shows and conferences
- Industry and client engagement events
- Client appreciation initiatives
- Manage sponsorships, memberships, and industry relationships
- Ensure strong company presence in key markets and associations
7. Data, Analytics & Performance Management
- Establish and track marketing KPIs and ROI metrics
- Oversee CRM utilization, reporting, and database management
- Analyze campaign performance, proposal metrics, and market trends
- Provide executive-level reporting and recommendations for improvement
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of marketing and business development experience.
- 3–5 years in construction, engineering, industrial, utility, or professional services industries.
- Experience managing RFQs, RFPs, qualifications packages, and customer presentations.
- Experience with HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms.
- Experience managing websites, digital campaigns, social media, and marketing analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with executive leadership and operational teams.
- Experience planning industry events, trade shows, customer appreciation activities, and sponsorship programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing a marketing team or function
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
- Familiarity with public and private bid processes
- Experience leading branding or digital transformation initiatives
