Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant General Manager at our cannabis dispensary in Cary, IL. As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a vital role in the efficient operations of the dispensary. You will work closely with the General Manager to oversee various aspects of the business, with a particular focus on purchasing and managing inventory levels. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the cannabis industry.
Responsibilities:
● Purchasing: o Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement an effective purchasing strategy. o Conduct market research to identify reliable suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing. o Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of products. o Review purchase orders and invoices for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies. o Stay up-to-date with market trends, new product releases, and changes in regulations.
● Inventory Management: o Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize losses. o Monitor inventory levels and analyze sales data to forecast demand and determine reorder points. o Coordinate with the General Manager and dispensary staff to ensure adequate stock availability. o Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. o Manage inventory tracking systems and ensure accurate recording of product information.
● Team Management: o Assist the General Manager in recruiting, hiring, and training dispensary staff. o Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members to ensure high performance and adherence to standard operating procedures. o Schedule and assign tasks to staff members, ensuring adequate coverage during operating hours. o Conduct performance evaluations and implement performance improvement plans as necessary. o Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and employee satisfaction.
● Compliance and Regulatory: o Stay informed about cannabis laws, regulations, and licensing requirements at the local and state level. o Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including accurate record-keeping and reporting. o Collaborate with the compliance team to implement and maintain standard operating procedures. o Assist in conducting internal audits and preparing for regulatory inspections.
● Customer Service: o Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback. o Resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a positive customer experience. o Train and educate staff on providing excellent customer service and product knowledge.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
● Previous experience in a similar role within the cannabis industry is highly desirable.
● Strong knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and their effects.
● Proven experience in purchasing and inventory management.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
● Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
